Learn the ancient and powerful art of Hindustani music with one of the world’s leading sitarists, Josh Feinberg. With 25+ years of teaching experience, Josh has taught thousands of students around the world and is a patient and inspiring teacher to students of all levels. Josh is committed to being the best guide possible for his student’s  journey, whatever that means for them. Lessons are available to students of all abilities, genders and ages. Josh has taught Indian music to students on many different instruments including sitar, sarod, santoor, esraj, dilruba, harmonium, keyboard, violin, guitar, oboe, bass, and more! Josh has also given countless lecture/demonstrations at leading colleges and universities around the world and has served as faculty member at Lewis and Clark College and Reed College.

In-person classes are available in Oakland, CA as well as the South San Francisco Peninsula area (Cupertino, Palo Alto etc), South Bay (Milpitas, Freemont, San Jose etc), and occasionally in Portland, Oregon. Josh has taught students around the world online via Facetime, Skype and Zoom for the last 15 years. If you wish to learn with Josh but don’t live near one of his teaching centers, online lessons are a great option! Many students employ a hybrid model where they sit on zoom sometimes, and come in person sometimes. This works well for most students and gives us the best of both options.
